BASIC HOSTAGE NEGOTIATION SCHOOL 40 HOURS/TCLEOSE APPROVED
June 9-13th, 2008
COST: $75.00 (TAHN MEMBERS) $100.00 NON-TAHN MEMBER’S
Course Objectives: Through this class, students will examine the applicable concepts of crisis negotiations in dealing with various crisis situations. This will include, but is not limited to: dealing with suicidal subjects, barricaded or trapped criminals, hostage versus non-hostage situations, etc. Students will also learn to identify the prevalent mental disorders that are encountered in crisis situations. This class will also teach the concepts of communication skills (active listening), intelligence gathering, tactical use of the negotiator, surrender phase, and the other procedures to reach a positive conclusion to situations they may encounter in their law enforcement career. Student’s participation in role-playing exercises is a requirement of this course. Class size: Limited to 30 students. Check our website at: www.tahn.org
