Captain Greg Martin started with the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office August 22, 2000 as an uncertified jailer. He got his TECLOSE jailers license on October 30, 2000. In 2002 Greg was requested to start, organize and run a classifications department for the new 600-bed Adult Detention Center. After seeing the benefits of the department, Greg was officially appointed the Classifications Manager October 22, 2002. This department has grown to four full time members. On September 13, 2003 he was appointed as the Operations Lieutenant of the Adult Detention Center. During his tenure as the Operations Lieutenant he has implemented and continues to implement new programs to ensure the security operations of the facility run as efficiently as possible. On June 11th, 2009 he was promoted to Captain and oversees not only the security operations of the facility but also writes policies and procedures for the facility.
 

Greg is an advanced jailer and has his basic peace officer license. He is a member of the Crisis Response Team for Guadalupe County assigned to the negotiations team. He is an advanced hostage negotiator and cross-trained basic SWAT. He also holds a TECLOSE instructors license.
