Lori holds a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Social Work, both from the University of Texas at Arlington. She is a Licensed Master Social Worker and has her Basic Instructor Certificate from TCLEOSE. She is a member of the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office Negotiation Team, Dallas Area Critical Incident Stress Management Team, National Organization for Victim Assistance, Texas Council on Family Violence, Tarrant County Coalition of Crime Victims Services, Tarrant County Family Violence Coalition, Law Enforcement Victim Assistants, Concerns of Police Survivors and the Texas Association of Hostage Negotiators. Lori has been with the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office since April 2003 as the Victim Assistance Coordinator. Prior to working for Tarrant County, she was with the City of Coppell as the Victim Assistance Coordinator. Lori has also worked as a therapist at a local psychiatric and chemical dependency hospital, as well as, having previous Victim Assistance experience through the Arlington Police Department. Lori's background includes working with victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and other violent crimes, at-risk youth, chemically dependent persons and the mentally ill.

Lori's duties in the Victim Assistance Department include crisis counseling and short-term counseling, on-scene assistance, providing information on Crime Victim Compensation, providing case status information and court accompaniment, and assistance with referrals to area social service agencies. Lori is also responsible for overseeing the Victim Information and Notification Everyday (VINE) contract for Tarrant County. She is also an instructor for the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office, the Dallas Area CISM Team, and the North Central Texas Regional Police Training Academy.
